Microwave cozies

So far I have made 15 or more of these bowls. These were gifted to the PO and Bank ladies for Christmas and they loved them ! These were made from 10" squares, I have also made a bunch with 12" squares for a larger bowl, they are for SIL's for Christmas gifts. I use all cotton fabric, thread and Wrap-n-Zap batting with instructions included, microwave at 2 min., intervals and not longer then 10 minutes total.

Merry Christmas All

Just finished these Christmas quilts for our home....gasp, nope they are not leaving .

Now starting to get ideas for my next project on a list hmmmm.... Grandson #2 needs a quilt and I'm considering the skateboard quilt from MSQ. I will keep you posted.

New Quilts

Here are a few of my efforts this fall, some are even finished !
Camp Oda May QAL from Moda Bake Shop

Oldest Daughters birthday wall hanging present, sent and received on time ! Free motion quilted on the Q24 .
Our oldest grandson's birthday quilt now finished . All over stipple quilting.
 Back of quilt.

Em's birthday clothes.

I do not do much sewing for the Grandkids anymore as they are growing up ....way to fast.
We do have a soon to be 3yr old so I did whip up this number this week. While pinning the pattern my pins struggled to push through the knit fabric, I remembered a trick my Mom used to do when changing one of the thousand’s of diapers on my 4 little brothers. Mom would run the diaper pin through her hair (yes she showered regularly 😉) it would lubricant the pin just enough and make it glide into the diaper with ease. I have used this method in my sewing room and it works like a charm!
Thanks Mom ....
Raided the stash and found some knit and sweatshirt fabrics to make this little outfit. She will be nice and warm this fall and winter.

Soup Cozies

Almost done with the cozies. Making them for the service ladies in our small town for Christmas. I started this tradition years ago for our Post Office and Bank ladies who work so hard for us.
Raided the stash this am to make some larger bowls from 12 " cuts of fabric and Wrap and Zap batting. A free pattern for 10" squares can be found here....

DH and I found these 2 serving soup packets at Albertsons very reasonably priced, so still on budget 😛

Trimmings

Love, love my clearly Perfect slotted trimmers ! Makes HST 's a snap to square up and also a slot for cutting off the points....perfect. A tad pricey around $30 at various online retail quilt sites. After squaring up around 100 2.5 HST's it was worth every penny !

A few of my quilts from the past....

Not according to Plan !

This little tool was my best friend on Monday ....which was a wet, rainy, snow day ! Perfect for finishing Emily's PYP quilt.
I finally re-downloaded the E2E design and opened the QLI design  in Art and Stitch saved it as a DXF and it was spot on perfect, no stops or jump stitches whew. After I ripped all the bad stitches out I was off to the races again and finished this top that afternoon. Will be posting the completed top with binding soon.
Happy sewing all.

No sewing today, just returned home from Wyoming . Last night got to watch the Grands x2 play soccer . Liah scored the first goal for her team and they ended up winning this game woohoo.
Kloe had a nice game as well, she learned about loosing :( . Hubby and I are headed out to our get away place tonight to grill some steaks and vegy's yum yum .

Liah is number 21 and Kloe has her coat on(below) ...let me tell you it was cold and windy ! We were all ready to get in the vehicle after the games.

Up and at it this am . Vacuuming done, load of clothes (last one) in the dryer, one load left to fold blech  it can wait... Have a little time left before I head out the door and over to Wyoming to watch the granddaughters Liah 8yrs and Kloe 6yrs old play soccer this afternoon. Sew ;) I have started the Pink Yes Please quilting that I posted earlier in the week. An E2E pantograph that has given me fits with some weird stop points . I will be contacting the seller to see if they are aware of it, then I will have to take into my ArtNStitch software to see if I can remove those points, the software is new to me and I haven't played with it much to date. Here's what I have finished so far....

Panda Wall Hanging for our Granddaughter Liah...shhh this is a surprise for her new bedroom. Pattern came from the Fat Quarter Shop and yes it's free . Quilted on my Bernina 880 in a  grid pattern using a 3.0 stitch length. Aren't those flowers pretty ...and oh so fake, what's a girl to do when the snow just left a week ago, fake it I say ! The pattern calls for a beige/tan fabric for the face and body and at first I didn't agree so auditioned white versus tan and went with the pattern choice..... turns out they knew what they were talking about !  Who'd thunk it .

Kari's(our oldest daughter) Tulip Quilt, another freebie from the internet. All over free motion stipple on the Q24.
