Dreams do come true....

We are building a new home out at our very private in the hills property woohoo....
Bought this chunk of land back in 2004, with the intention of putting up a small cabin. Sometimes
life  gets in the way..... Fred started the cabin in 2009, got a good amount of hard work done ...foundation, floor , outhouse, landscaping then early in 2010 our daughter was expecting her first child, relatively problem free until her 7-8 month she started having spells of itching and night sweats. We just attributed it to pregnancy hormones, she and hubby welcomed baby girl Liah in February. Kim was still experiencing symptoms and had a swelling in her lower neck, she was due for her post check up so I attended with her. The looks I received from the docs I will never ever forget they are etched in my memory.
Kim has Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma...let’s fast forward to present day. Fred was devastated by her cancer as it runs in his family and he shouldered all the guilt, he never went back to the cabin site to work ....we did hire someone but that is another story. Long story short,Kim is in remission now and is a
Tri-athlete and will be entering her first half Ironman this summer. She and daughter Liah entered their first mother-daughter triathlon last September. Liah is now 9yrs old and has a sister Kloe who is her best friend.
Fred and I made the decision early this spring to sell our Hardware store, home and move to the hills.
The new home is in the early stages with concrete to be poured next week..fingers crossed 🤞🏻
Plans are based on a bardominium , all one level except for the bonus sewing studio.

Bargello donation quilt is done.

The quilt is now in the hands of our local Electric Cooperative, it will be given out following a drawing at the
annual meeting. The proceeds will be used to fund our continuing education program, that supports the scholarship’s

A first for me. Made this while filling in at the store while we continue to search for a replacement clerk. Have in mind what I will be using as a quilt design, but need to get the backing made. I believe this quilt will be going towards our Cooperative’s education auction....hmmm not sure.

Now that was cold.

We will never know if it was colder ? That’s as far as our marine thermometer goes.... hubby has one
at the store that goes down to -60 yikes. The sun is shining, but that is deceiving because it’s still mighty cold out there . Gradually warming up this week and about time, we’re not the Rockefeller’s
the birds are eating us out of house and home.....eat like a bird my foot ! Hope you are warm and safe
where ever you are.

Monkeying around today...

Little quilt for Kloe’s birthday, need to get it quilted and in the mail.
